Dr. Clarida joined PIMCO in 2006 as Executive Vice President and Global Strategic Advisor. Before joining Pimco, Dr. Clarida had extensive experience in Washington - as Assistant Treasury Secretary, in academia - as Chairman of the Department of Economics at Columbia University, and in financial markets - Credit Suisse, Grossman Asset Management, the Clinton Group. Dr. Clarida will be based in Pimco's New York office, and will continue to teach at Columbia University. Dr. Clarida has a master' s and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University and a bachelor' s degree from the University of Illinois. He has more than 6 years of investment experience.
